ACCMAN Institute of Management organized 4th National HR Conference – HR Practices for Sustainable Development – a Critical Analysis of Corporate Initiatives
ACCMAN Institute of Management, a leading new age B-school, organized 4th National HR Conference on theme ‘HR Practices for Sustainable Development – A Critical Analysis of Corporate Initiatives’ on 5th November 2011 at Stellar Gymkhana. Delegates from industry, academia and student community participated in the conference in large numbers.
The term sustainable development implies different things to different people, but in essence, it is concerned with meeting the needs of people today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable development, therefore, involves a broad view of social perspective in a long term manner with an inclusive approach in action.
Mr. Suresh Tripathi, President HR, SRF Ltd., the Key-Note Speaker at the conference gave out three dimensions of sustainable development: time, direction and relationship. Development must sustain itself over the time, it must be in the right direction, and it must build-up relationships in win-win situation. He gave out expectations of organizations as that they require fire-flies and not high voltage bulbs.

Mr. S.K. Chaturvedi, Ex-Chairman & MD, Power Grid Corporation, the Chief Guest said that there is need for greater orientation towards sustainable development in utilization of public resources
The Inaugural Session was followed by three technical sessions: First, Strengthening the HR Architecture towards Sustainable Development – Contemporary Issues; Second, Developing Sustainable Corporate Culture; Third (Panel Discussion) – Talent Management for Sustainable Development.
