ACCMAN Institute of Management organises National Conference:
“ICT Impact on the Knowledge and Information Management”

In order to provide a platform and enable interaction amongst library experts, researchers, academicians, and students for adoption, implementation and utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) towards shaping information paradigms and identifying strength and gaps in library systems, and suggest new models, policies and mechanism for reshaping the traditional libraries into next generation libraries a national conference on “ICT Impact on the Knowledge and Information Management” was organized on 14th September, 2010 by ACCMAN Institute of Management, Greater Noida – a leading new-age B-School founded by Balibhadra Foundation, New Delhi, with the mission to provide high quality, academic relevant and industry focused education at affordable costs.

Chief Guest, Dr. Panjab Singh, Ex Vice-Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University and Member Governing Council, ACCMAN Institute of Management said that today no one can escape technology. He emphasized the need for effective use of knowledge available with the help of technology, and said that possessing technological tools is one aspect, but actual usage is in utilizing those in a synthesized manner for the benefit of users. He wished everyone to get richer by the time this mega conference – a congregation of experts from all over the country, concludes.

Dr. R.K. Chadha, Joint Secretary, Parliament Library, Govt. of India stressed that the libraries must connect on a day to day basis through virtual seminars and other virtual forums the technology provides for improving upon the already existing library facilities. For this, cooperation amongst the institutes and organizations with an attitude of cohesiveness, is a must since in the present scenario of technological development, no one can survive in isolation.

Dr. Satya Prakash Singh, Librarian, ACCMAN Institute of Management proposed a vote of thanks to the participants.

In this one of the mega library conferences in Delhi & NCR, 256 delegates from various universities and institutes, viz. Dr. N. Natrajan, NISCAIR, Dr. R.K. Bhatt, HOD, Delhi University, Prof. V.S. Nigam, Dean, Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Mr. Salek Chand, LIO & Head LRC, Election Commission, Dr. Nadeem Hasan, IIT Delhi , Dr. Anil Singh, NCERT, New Delhi, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Bundelkhand University, IMT Ghaziabad, KITE Ghaziabad, GSS Noida, and more participated. Nearly sixty papers were presented in the four technical sessions that followed the grand inauguration ceremony, which also included release of a Volume of the Papers. The conference concluded with a valedictory function highlighting the value addition done by the conference to the Library and Information Science.
