"Advantage India - The Marketing Challenge"
India is a Goldmine for FMCG Opportunities. All MNCs have to come to India. Amongst the BRIC countries India has the highest consumer base. Product Development should be in consonance with the prevailing test of the society not in conflict, emphasized by Mr. B. Kannan, Senior Vice-President, Nestle India Ltd. at the National Conference held on “Advantage India – The Marketing Challenge” Organized by ACCMAN Institute of Management at India Habitat Center today on 11th December 2010. Our banking system is strongest in the world.
The governance of our regulator is the best. India is known for its largest core banking system. We should try to grow entrepreneurship as sufficient funds are available with the banks, said by Mr. T.R. Bajaliya, Executive director of IDBI. India is strong in building brands through after sales service, said by Mr. Sunil Gupta, Managing Partner, South Asia Results International Group PLC. Mr. Srikant Sastri, Chairperson Vivaki India Ltd. emphasized the importance of Innovation and Indians are good at thinking out of the box
We need to change the ‘Social Fabric’ of our country to make it adaptable to the type of economy we are entering into. The emphasis was laid down by Mr. Sudarshan Mazumdar, Ex- Director, FORTIS through various questions like- do we have honesty of purpose in what we are doing?, do we have dignity of labour and technology?, do we have clarity of communication on both customers’ and service providers’ side?, etc. in the technical session.
Introspection is required as to what motivates people to work in tandem, said by Mr. Sunil Gupta, Managing Partner, South Asia Results International Group PLC., Mr. Hoshie Ghaswalla, President Cyber Media, focused on the challenges that we are facing today like over- commitment and under- delivery, ‘chalta hai’ attitude, lack of technological awareness in transformational (previous) generation, etc.
‘Four Aspects of Services’ were highlighted by Mr. Manish Upadhyahy – COO, EDGE Communication Pvt. Ltd., which included understanding what consumers really want, scheduling in exposure of good products and developing client relationship, the critical concept of cost, and different growth paths (general management and technical) followed by the people.
The modus operandi which is essential today, as defined by Mr. R. S. Siddhu – Chairman, Sharul techno Financial Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd, was indicated through his words- ‘natural capability is required; come out of the slave spirit’.
Other prominent speakers at the conference were Mr. P.K. Gupta – Chairman & M.D., Zest Agro Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Subroto Chattopadhyay – Chairman, The Peninsula Foundation, and Mr. Arvind Mayar, CEO, Secure oarking Solutions, Ex- MD Fedders Inc.
